B Building SM Marti Fast Image 1

Marti Fast taught in the Art Program in the Fine Arts Department for thirty-two years. She is most fondly remembered by Allan Hancock College Alumni for the Life Drawing courses she taught, which were focused on drawing the human figure. Marti’s elegant drawings capture the essence of the positioning and movement of the human body.

In addition to teaching, Marti also directed the Foxworthy Gallery for twenty-one years where she curated hundreds of shows. She was president of the Santa Maria Arts Council where she was instrumental in providing grants to emerging artists in the community as well. Marti retired from Allan Hancock College in 2018.
