Title: Let Your Imagination Soar

Medium: Painted Silk on Wire

Year: 2013

The colors and imagery in the bird

sculptures have specific significance to the

students, faculty, and staff in the

Early Childhood Studies program. Blue sky,

clouds, the sun, and rainbows are all popular

themes in children's art. The butterfly is a

symbol of joy; the monarch was chosen for

its importance to the Central Coast. The

child bird is carrying an olive branch in its

beak to symbolize peace leading the way.

Finally, the chrysanthemum symbolizes

both scholarship and comfort,

two important aspects of the Early

Childhood Studies curriculum and values.
