Observatory

The Adams State University Observatory is a research-quality facility that houses 3 permanently mounted telescopes and stores additional mobile telescopes. The observatory's roll-off roof gives all three telescopes an unimpeded view of the sky. Students can operate the telescopes, cameras, and spectrometers by computer from a heated control room, producing scientifically meaningful data as well as beautiful astrophotographs.

In addition to student and faculty research, regular public viewings are also held here. The Adams State Observatory is located on the north end of campus between the softball and baseball fields by the Rio Grande. Parking is available on the west side of Stadium Drive and in nearby parking lots.
