Theatre Building

Theatre professors and students produce plays on one of the two stages located in the Theatre Building. The San Luis Valley Federal Bank Main Stage has an orchestra pit and state-of-the-art lighting and production equipment and has at least three main shows a year featuring students and directed by professors.

The Theatre Department believes in immersing students in all aspects of the profession including acting, directing, set and costume design, and lighting and sound design. Senior theatre majors choose an option for their senior thesis including producing and directing a play on the Xperimental Stage, a stage in the round, also known as the Black Box. A large set design studio, make-up and dressing area, Green Room, and fully functioning costume shop, and theatre professors’ offices are all accessible to students.
