Ecosystem-Biomedical Health Laboratory (EBL)

Ecosystem-Biomedical Laboratory

The Ecosystems and Biomedical Laboratories (EBL) was built in 2004 and is 16,000 square feet total, including 8,000 square feet of laboratory space focusing on ecosystem level interactions in the Northern and Arctic climates. Several biological sciences faculty, post-doctoral researchers, and graduate researchers have specialized research facilities located in this building. EBL houses the Environment and Natural Resources Institute (ENRI) which is an interdisciplinary group of core staff and faculty affiliates with the shared goal of improving understanding of environmental and natural resource issues in cold regions. Within ENRI is the Stable Isotope Lab, a state-of- the-art analytical facility that quantifies stable isotope ratios to assist researchers studying processes on short and long-time scales.
