EOPS - The Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) Office offers several programs that provide additional assistance for Bakersfield College students to succeed in college.
CARE - The Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) Program promotes students' success by offering specialized services to EOPS students who are single parents receiving public assistance (CalWORKs/TANF).
CalWORKs - CalWORKs (California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Children) is California's Welfare plan in response to Federal TANF (Temporary Aid to Needy Families) Program.
NextUp - NextUp provides support services for current and former foster youth students who were in foster care on or after their 13th birthday.
AB540 - The Bakersfield College AB540/ Undocumented Students Program provides counseling and academic support for students who are eligible under the AB540 in-state tuition exemption.
Rising Scholars Program
TRIO Student Support Services (CSS 135) - TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded outreach program designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds, promote educational success, retention, and persistence, and provide opportunities for low-income, first-generation college students and students with disabilities from diverse backgrounds.
Student Success Lab (CSS 143) - The student success lab offers a curriculum of developmental courses designed to remediate and lead students to college-level courses.
Tutoring Center (CSS 203; Mezzanine) - Provides free tutoring both online and in-person to all currently enrolled Bakersfield College Students.
