Our students and faculty truly believe in fitness and living healthy lives. You’ll see it every day of the week at the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Inc. Athletic and Recreation Center, or the ARC, our multipurpose sports complex. This spacious facility allows for year round activity with an indoor track, tennis courts, baseball and softball cages, an indoor soccer field, a lacrosse field, and more.
Opened in 2009, the ARC is a multi-purpose, 60,000 square feet facility that includes a 200-meter indoor track. Designed by an alum of the University, the architecture is unique because the supporting frame of the building is outside the exterior wall, allowing for more floor space on the inside. Four tennis courts are strategically placed in the middle of the track, allowing for multiple sports practices to occur at the same time. The track surface has been certified to host both regional and national events.
