Named after a pioneer in women's college athletics, the Mary V. Blackmon Tennis Center features 10 lighted courts for use by students, employees and the community, a pro shop and a restroom facility. There is bleacher seating that allows spectators to view play on multiple courts simultaneously. There is also a grass area from which fans can watch matches. It has hosted as many as 14 NCAA regional tennis tournaments.

Blackmon founded CSU's women’s sports programs and served the university for 28 years as its head Women’s Tennis coach, head Women’s Volleyball coach and as a faculty member.
