Early Childhood Studies (I 200)

Building I Childcare Entrance

The Early Childhood Studies (ECS) building is both a teaching institution and a child care center. Infants, toddlers, and preschool students at the Orfalea Children’s Center Lab School enjoy a low student-to-teacher ratio and a rich learning environment provided by Allan Hancock College students enrolled in the early childhood studies program.  Built in 2013, the center was part of the campus expansion, made possible by Measure I, which added nearly 12,000 square feet of space to the existing Family and Consumer Sciences structure built in 1990. The center includes hands-on learning labs, state-of-the-art classrooms, a fully functioning preschool, observation rooms, as well as fun and exciting indoor and outdoor play areas for children.
