Building N is home to the Kinesiology, Recreation and Athletics Department as well as the Physical Fitness Lab and swimming pool. The north wing of the building was built in 1962 and the gymnasium was added on in 1967. In 2002, the gymnasium was refurbished and named after honored longtime athletic director Joe White, who oversaw the growth of AHC athletics from the 1950s to the 70s, which included two state championships in basketball and baseball.
AHC’s accomplished athletic program offers intercollegiate football, basketball, soccer, tennis, baseball, softball, golf, volleyball, swimming, water polo, and track and field. Thanks to Measure I improvements completed in 2013, student athletes enjoy new athletic fields for football, soccer, baseball, and softball teams, as well as a new state-of-the art track open to students, faculty, and the public.
