Performing Arts Center

Bldg D Exterior

The performing arts center is the performing home of PCPA - Pacific Conservatory Theatre, the only resident professional live theatre company on the Central Coast and the only training program of its kind offered at a community college. For over 50 years PCPA has produced exemplary artistic experiences for the community while preparing thousands of actors and theatre technicians for a career in theatre.

Audiences have enjoyed more than 500 live theatre productions and tens-of-thousands of performances at the Performing Arts Center which houses the Marian Theatre, built in 1968, and the Severson Theatre, added in 1992.  With support from Measure I funds, the Performing Arts Center was renovated and updated in 2013 to continue to allow students and audiences a world class theatre experience.

“Because we are geographically isolated from population centers where artistic experiences are readily available to our students and our college patrons, we have an obligation to develop such experiences on this campus.” - Allan Hancock President, Walter Conrad, 1965
