The Koessler Administration Building (KAB) is the original building on the D’Youville campus, a historic landmark, and an iconic symbol of the university in our West Side neighborhood. Outside, the building still has its historic charm, but inside you’ll find modern, updated offices alongside our sophisticated, fresh student spaces.
Entering through our front doors you will be welcomed by friendly faces who are happy to direct you where you need to go and answer your questions. While on the first floor, take some time to explore our History and Heritage Hallway. Here you can learn the history of D’Youville University, particularly our Nursing and Pharmacy programs.
The Kavinoky Theatre is also located in KAB. The Kav (as you will hear it referred to on campus) is an award-winning, working theater that holds events and performances throughout the year. As a student, you can attend any performance at a discounted rate.
On the second floor, you’ll also find the offices for Admissions, student engagement and housing, student experience, student development and advocacy, Student Government Association, and Veteran and Military-Aligned student support center.
If you are looking for a place to study or work with classmates, there are many unique spaces to take advantage of in KAB. On the first floor, you’ll find the Joan of Arc study rooms, on the second floor there is the Park and the Beach (this is also where you’ll find Saint and Maggie’s doghouse), and the fifth floor Treehouse.
On the third floor, you’ll discover our Wellness Lodge and Cultural Advocacy Center. In the Wellness Lodge our staff counselors are available for students. The Wellness Lodge is a great place to go to de-stress, the event space across the hall offers many weekly events like chair massages, yoga and art classes. Students in need are welcome to visit this space for pantry staples from the Campus Cupboard. Down the hall, The Cultural Advocacy Center is a great resource for students and staff. This space is for questions and conversations.
On the fourth floor, you can take a stroll down The Administrative Neighborhood. That’s what we call the long row of offices that members of our leadership council and our president share. With their front porch-like feel, you’ll see why we call it a neighborhood when you visit.
Another spot to visit on the fourth floor is our Alumni office. If you’re about to graduate or are already an alum stop by for a visit — free high fives aren’t the only perks our alumni office hand out to fellow Saints. They love to talk to alumni about how to stay involved and the benefits of keeping in touch. Once a Saint, always a Saint.
