Encouraging creativity in visual and performing arts, the Fine Arts Building (ARTS) houses the departments of Art, Music, Journalism and Public Communications and Theatre & Dance. This building has three performance venues and an art gallery: the Recital Hall, a 200-seat music hall; the Mainstage Theater, a 180-seat theater; the Harper Studio, an 80-seat black box theater; and the Kimura Gallery. The Fine Arts Building has ten art studios: ceramics, digital design, drawing, metals, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, 2D and 3D. There are also three lecture halls, two theatre workshops for costume and scenic design, as well as music practice rooms, rehearsal spaces and classrooms.
