Rock Valley College is home to one of the country’s leading FAA-approved Aviation Maintenance Technology programs.
Our dynamic curriculum fuses coursework with intensive hands-on experiences which take place in the state-of-the-art Aviation Career Education Center, housed at the Chicago Rockford International Airport. Here, you will learn about materials and processes, aircraft drawing, fuel and lubrication systems, ignition and propeller systems, assembly and rigging, and so much more. Classes are led by esteemed faculty with diverse experience in the field who will guide and mentor you during your time here. We offer a degree option as well as certificates for Airframe Technician, Aviation Maintenance, and Powerplant Technician. All students are prepared to test for their A&P license upon program completion.
The AAR EAGLE Pathway Program is a joint effort between the college and a global provider of aviation services. Through the program, students studying to become aircraft maintenance technicians have the opportunity to receive real-life work experience and interview for a position with AAR upon graduation. Additionally, this program hosts an annual job fair in July and supports students with job placement.
If you wish to continue your education, RVC has partnered with the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and Northern Illinois University so that you can transfer with your Associate of Applied Science in Aviation Maintenance Technology to obtain a Bachelor of Applied Studies in Aviation Management.
