The Educational Resource Center (ERC) is where you will find the Estelle M. Black Library, which houses a collection of more than 90,000 books, 650 periodicals, a host of electronic resources, and access to 90 Illinois academic libraries. Inside the library, you’ll find group and individual study rooms, a computer lab, a media lab with a green screen, an audio recording room, the Tutoring Center, and the Writing Center. Located in the lobby, you’ll find the Inzombia coffee shop.
On the second floor, you may find EAGLE Support. RVC EAGLE, our online learning management system, is used to submit homework, discuss course topics, complete practice tests and communicate with instructors and classmates. Need help? Make an appointment on our website!
Our Performing Arts Room (PAR) is located on the ground floor and hosts various events, such as performances by RVC’s award-winning choral, jazz, and orchestral groups.
Our Mass Communication program is also on the ground floor. Our state-of-the-art facilities include a large multi-camera television studio, seven post-production suites featuring industry-standard programs such as AVID, Final Cut Studios, and Pro-Tools, Sony High-Definition video cameras, and the area’s only Steadicam unit. Classes are led by working media professionals who bring real-world perspectives to enhance your learning and open doors to internships with local media outlets and with other industry professionals outside of the Rockford area.
